My Go-To Skin Products: Troublesome Skin

Beauty Surprise!

skin-care-blog-1

Even though I rarely have troublesome skin, every now and then (normally if it’s changing seasons) my skin will act out. I’m sharing some of my favorite products I use when that happens! Keep in mind that all these products work differently for different types of skin, so some may be too strong or not strong enough. Read on to see some tips on having glowing skin + my go-to products!

TIPS:::

Exfoliate your skin to get rid of dead cells. Not only does this help make your skin smoother, but also make its brighter.

Buy a moisturizer with sunscreen to protect your skin from UV rays.

Get active and have a healthy diet! You don’t have to go full-on paleo, but eating lots of protein and fruits and vegetables help your skin glow.

Take a few days off from wearing makeup every month to let your skin breath and give it a break.

Wearing organic, high-end, natural makeup is so much better for your skin than drugstore brands. I suggest buying a high-end foundation and powder, since these cover your entire face.

Products mentioned: Formula 10.6.01 Pores Be Pure Mud Mask, Origins Drink Up Intensive Overnight Mask, Maybelline Baby Lips Moisturizer, Clearasil Rapid Action Pads

Formula 10.6.01 Pores Be Pure Mud Mask ($7): I’ve been using this mask for several years and it’s still my favorite! Charcoal is totally bomb for opening up your pores and fixing acne-prone skin. Put a thin layer on (it may sting a little bit) and leave it on for about 15 minutes, wipe it off with a warm washcloth. It’s only $7 and you can find it at Ulta!

Origins Drink Up Overnight Mask ($4-26): I received a few masks from Origins right before Christmas and I discovered that I can actually use this as a face moisturizer. Instead of putting on a thick coat, I apply a thin amount. It’s perfect for dry and/or sensitive skin! You only need a small amount, about the size of  a pea, so it lasts really long too!

Maybelline Baby Lips Moisturizer ($3): Yes, I totally count lip moisturizer as a skin product. I get really chapped lips in the spring and winter and I love Maybelline’s BL! I mean, who doesn’t? It doesn’t have a tint so I can wear it with or without makeup, and it’s really moisturizing 👌🏽

Clearasil Rapid Action Pads ($7): I grabbed these rapid action pads to see if I could see a difference from their original pads and these are definitely more for problem areas. I would use them all over my face but I noticed my skin was drying out so I stopped and used them only on my t-zone. They keep my skin looking really clear and it doesn’t affect my semi-sensitive skin at all! If you do have sensitive skin, try Clearasils Stayclear Pads ($5)
