I received some makeup and skin care products a few weeks ago from: Nars, Bobbi Brown, Formula X, Tarte, Kate Somerville, Verb, Origins, and (lastly) Obsessive Compulsive Cosmetics. I’m doing a full review on Tarte’s Color Correcting palette because there is just so much to share about this product and how to color correct. Let’s get started! 👉🏽
Formula X Nail Polish in Heart-Stopping ($10): I’ve been eyeing a lilac nail polish color for a few months ever since I saw a Youtube beauty guru wearing it. If she was wearing it, it must be in, right? I think it’s the prettiest color for spring and it’s doesn’t collide too much with my outfit (because that’s what I think, if it matches my outfit). The majority of my nail polish colors or grey and white (ha!), so it’s nice to have a pop of color. The wear is pretty nice as well, I had it on for about 10 days before it started chipping (I didn’t add a top coat, btw).
Kate Somerville Exfolikate Intensive Exfoliator ($24 for .05 oz | $85 for 2 oz | $175 for 5 oz): I received a mini + a full size and I packed the mini in my purse in case I just randomly need to exfoliate (I do things like that… not weird). I know you’re probably thinking that $175 is ridiculous for a skin product, but it is your skin and it’s important to treat your skin with the up most care (I wrote that as being sarcastic, but it’s actually 100% accurate). Switching up your skin care routine and using exfoliators/masks is the key to flawless makeup. I love this exfoliator and it’s awesome how it’s made without parabens and sulfate.
Bobbi Brown Vitamin Enriched Face Mask ($58): I have been using this product for the past two weeks and my skin feels so hydrated and smooth. It’s oil-free which is perf and somehow lightweight yet thick at the same time. You don’t need too much to cover your face (maybe pea-size) and it absorbs without looking oily.
NARS Pure Radiant Tinted Moisturizer ($44): I wanted to like this product so bad. I’ve heard great reviews and comments on this product, but it just didn’t work for me. AGH. The cover was light, and it was a mix between matte and dewy. definitely not full matte coverage, which was a bummer. I love tinted moisturizers/BB creams with matte covers. It didn’t wear to well for me (I have normal skin) and started to fade away after 5+ hours.
Verb Leave-In Mist ($14) + Origins Checks and Balances Face Wash ($12 for .1.7 oz | $22 for 5 oz): Both of these products are really affordable and are kind of miracle workers. I haven’t ever used a foam face wash before and this wash was really gentle and cleansing. It removed all of my makeup and I think this would be great for sensitive skin.
I was so excited to see this leave-in mist because I tend to use a lot of heat-styling tools (blow dryer, flat iron, and curler) and not only does this help contain frizz but it protects and adds shine. It’s a light product which is perfect because I like to use a few other products in my hair and this doesn’t make my hurr feel too heavy. #yaaasss
Obsessive Compulsive Cosmetics Stained Gloss ($5/per tube | 70% off right now!): I received 4 different colors- New Wave, Hedonist, Jealous, and Little Black Dress. They only have Little Black Dress and Hedonist on their website right now, but here’s a picture of all the colors. I was very shocked on how thick and vibrant the colors were. Normally lip glosses blend + enhance your natural color but these glosses were really colorful and actually looked like the color they were in the tube. I love the different colors I got and they all stayed on for a pretty long time.
