this is how i always look.

unedited, makeup free, natural

I’m always amazed at how well put-together bloggers look. Like they casually wear heels and have perfect makeup always. They’re the real superheroes of this world! I do not have the ability or patience to achieve that level of perfection 😂  I’m a little different because I pretty much never wear makeup nor do I wear heels, jeans, or an actual bra (lively forever) 90% of the time. LIVIN LIFE.

In the spring and summer, once it gets hot, there is an even more likely chance I’ll be makeup-free because it just melts off within a few hours (lol). Which is totally ok! I talk so much about makeup and clothes, I think a lot of you think I always look like that. HA! Definitely not. Right now, I’m currently wearing my sisters shorts, which are a few sizes too big, a tee that I got off of Etsy with an Office quote, and my dad’s sweatshirt (again, several sizes too big). Oh, and no makeup.

At the moment, I’m preparing a body-positivity series for April. I’ve got a few bloggers who are going to share their story. I’m excited, YO. I’ll be honest, as someone who has read blogs for years and currently works as a blogger, it’s a rare sight to see someone posting without makeup or a cute outfit. Yeah, I’m a little different.

I wanted to give you guys a glimpse into what goes on behind the camera. Or what I look like behind the camera. I love makeup and creating different looks with products from Sephora and throwing on my heels but it’s a rare find. Over the past year, I’ve grown more confident in my natural look. I don’t wear makeup to cover up my blemishes or because I think it makes me pretty, I wear makeup because I enjoy it and it’s fun to experiment. I wear heels because I love heels although I do wish they looked better with joggers 🤷🏻‍♀️ #why

Ok here’s my point because this post is getting long. Wear makeup, don’t wear makeup. Do what makes you happy babes! It’s hard to be confident, especially in today’s society where we’re told what’s attractive, but attractive is being confident so be confident in what makes you..you! Also, just a friendly reminder: everyone has blemishes, dark circles, and at least three pairs of leggings/joggers. That’s life, baby.

PS If you want body-positivity posts you need to check out this one from Sassy Red Lipstick, this one from Sartorial Dream, or this one from Two Peas in a Prada. They are everything.

I am the same way. I see some people who are always “put together” but for me that is not the case. I look presentable, but I am not usually all dolled up.

  • Jessi Joachim

I love this. I think we see people online and other bloggers and think they must look perfect all the time. We put our best selves online. Like I put my all made up picture, not my every day mom bun and yoga pants lol

  • Karen

Girl, please. I need about 200 photos to find 1 good one! haha… And, you look fabulous on your “always look” vibe. Stunning!

  • Kristina

You look beautiful and have amazing natural beauty. I only wear makeup if going out – otherwise I don’t wear any being a sahm. I do like to make myself look nice before the hubby gets home but that’s make up free still! I’d like to see more ladies go natural.

  • Joanna @ Everyday Made Fresh

I love this post! You are beautiful! Sometimes I want to see the real person behind all the makeup and fun stuff. I want to see another person that doesn’t look like Hollywood! Thank you!!

  • Reesa Lewandowski

I like this! I agree it is so hard to find someone not made up in their pics and it honestly intimidates me to show myself!

  • Cynthia @craftoflaughter

I wish this was the norm instead of the exception. I think the no makeup look IS the perfect look

  • Terri Steffes

Ha! There is a reason I am a food blogger! I like make up but just don’t like to take the time to do it everyday. Sometimes I just want to give my skin a rest.

  • Jeanine

I love this so much. I look a hot mess most days and i don’t even care. I have other things to do than get all dolled up. I’m happy though and i think that counts.

  • Tereza

Bless you still look like a real stunner! Can’t wait to read the body positivity series, there’s never enough of it! I’ve been wearing much less makeup lately and to be fair I don’t think people can even tell the difference haha! x

  • Cindy Ingalls

I completely agree. Sometimes I feel more confident going out with a bare face than I do with a full face of makeup. Other times I feel super sassy when I’m rocking a makeup look that I love. You have to do what makes you feel like your best self.

  • Ana De- Jesus

You still look pretty you have very long lashes! I am the same when I am not working or am at home I don’t wear makeup. I can’t be bothered and that’s ok too x

  • roxy

So true! I think you look absolutely beautiful with your fresh, makeup free face.

  • Kim

I love the behind the camera look. I don’t wear much makeup these days. Great inside perspective!

  • Vicky

You are gorgeous, glowing and don’t need a lick of makeup. Thanks for presenting a this view of how women look and not setting up this standard that many can’t reach.

  • Chel

While I love all things glam, I’m only made up 25% of the time LOL. As a 30-something mom, it just doesn’t matter as much as it used to. It’s important that we normalize the natural look, too.

  • swenson

You are gorgeous. No makeup needed! Those brows are to die for lady!

  • Jalisa Harris

Your so pretty. I definitely know what you mean. I can never understand how so many have the time. I’m a more natural based mama.

  • Nikki

You are so naturally beautiful!! I do feel as if the media makes us feel like we should look a certain way all the time, but man I’m like you girlfriend. If I’m not taking photos I’m no makeup and casual hahaha.

  • Jean

Wow, you look so amazing without any make up! I’m hopeless when it comes to makeup which is why I wear very little – most days just conealer, lip gloss and a bit of mascara. You’re so right, it is all about being confident in your own skin and who you are. Plus its refreshing for people to talk about this!

  • Toughcookiemommy

I think you look great. It’s so important to always be your authentic self, especially when you are connecting to your audience.

  • katriza

I do try my best to put myself together so I don’t look like “hot mess” moms that are currently trending right now. I’m just doing whatever I need to get by lol

  • katrina gehman

i love makeup, but i’m mostly a jeans and t-shirt kind of girl. i’ll throw something nice on when i have to.
