how gorgeous is skagway? the view is unbelievable.
Incase you missed it, I recently went on an Alaskan cruise with my family! It was SO gorgeous and I wanted to share a few essentials that saved me. I absolutely love traveling and can’t wait for the next adventure (Chicago in September, Disney World in October, and *hopefully* D.C. in November, that’s yet to be decided). Where is your next trip to? Comment below where you’re heading + what you always have on hand!

luggage tag + passport holder: If you’re like me and have the ever-so typical black luggage, it’s so hard to find it when you get to baggage claim. I got the cutest luggage tag from Ankit (favorite store) and it was easy to spot my black luggage. And you’ll definitely want a passport holder because, why not? Slightly obsessing over this one.
iphone charging case OR portable battery: Trust me, you’re going to want a charger for traveling that doesn’t require a port. I have been using my mophie case all day, every day and it’s so nice not to have to worry about my battery dying. If you don’t want a thick case, bring along a portable battery! My sister had one of them in the plane and while traveling in Alaska and it was a huge help.
sleeping mask: Fun story, when we were coming back we got delayed in Dallas (ugh, Texas, come on) and didn’t end up leaving until almost four hours after the estimated time. Needless to say, that was a rough day and that sleeping mask helped me fall asleep in the bright plane. I also shared a cruise room with three other people and we all went to bed/woke up at different times, so a mask to block out the lights was a life saver.
crossbody to fit carry-on items: I brought a small (small) cross body, I wish I had brought something bigger but I didn’t have to many items in the first case. Just enough to fit our passport, wallet, phone, and a few other items that you might want to have (like a book or two, extra shirt, etc). The bag I linked is only $50 and so gorgeous. A tote is another great option, I’m living for this color!
cute travel outfit (aka, leggings and a sweatshirt ;)): I wore an oversized t-shirt and THE comfiest leggings ever (<<< buy them stat. seriously) when we were heading to Seattle. On the way back, I wore a sweatshirt and leggings. Pretty much always wearing leggings, ha! I’m constantly amazed at how gorgeous other bloggers look when traveling, I look like I literally fell out of bed (most of the time that’s the case, hehe). Comfort is key, especially if you’re traveling somewhere cold or on a long plane trip.
music + something to do: I downloaded a few new Spotify playlists and podcasts to listen to on the plane (The Skinny Confidential, The Lady Gang, Soft Pop Hits and Move On & Don’t Look Back on Spotify). Whatever cures your boredom, bring and throw into your bag!
